The history of the estate begins in 1999, when Nikos Vourvoukelis, always supported by his wife Flora Vourvoukelis, decided to revive the ancient glory of the Abdera terroir. Having always held a passion for the vineyard and wine, he decided—alongside his professional career in Medicine—to devote himself to viticulture and winemaking. He planted the first 20 acres on the fertile hills of the region, always ensuring the vineyards were cultivated with respect for the local ecosystem. He chose to highlight the unique indigenous varieties while harmoniously combining international ones, to create high-quality wines. He signed the estate with his surname, “Ktima Vourvoukelis,” defining its course and orientation through his personal values.
