Ktima Biblia Chora

Vivlia Chora Estate is located at the foothills of Mount Pangeon, in Kokkinohori, Kavala, and represents the culmination of a long friendship and shared journey between two wine experts, Vassilis Tsaktsarlis and Vangelis Gerovasileiou. A model organic vineyard, now spanning 800 acres, surrounds the modern winery.

The philosophy of the estate focuses on producing high-quality wines that highlight the unique characteristics of the Pangeon region. To achieve this goal, both vineyard cultivation and winemaking are carried out with meticulous care, leveraging experience and knowledge while combining tradition with technology.

Today, Vivlia Chora Estate produces 10 Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) Pangeon wines (Vivlia Chora White, Vivlia Chora Rosé, Vivlia Chora Red, Plagios White, Plagios Red, Obelos White, Obelos Red, Sole Semillon – Sweet, Areti White, Areti Red) and 2 varietal wines (Sole Vidiano, Sole Pinot Noir).

Complementing its portfolio are the Vivlinos Rosé and Vivlinos Red wines, produced from an indigenous red grape variety of Pangeon, discovered and revived by Vivlia Chora Estate, which is currently in the process of identification. Additionally, the ETOS series features long-aged wines from select, exceptional vintages.

Guided by its commitment to high quality, the winery has expanded its ventures with three new projects:

  • In 2014, the estate acquired the vineyards of Christos Kokkalis in Agios Andreas, Ilida, which have since expanded to 80 acres, cultivating Greek and international varieties under organic farming standards. This led to the creation of Dyo Ypsi Estate, which now produces 4 wines: Monologos, Dialogos White, Dialogos Red, and Trilogia.

  • In 2017, the estate began a collaboration with oenologist Ioanna Vamvakouri, leading to the establishment of Terrasea Winery on Thirasia—a small island opposite Santorini. The region’s unique characteristics and pristine soil create ideal conditions for high-quality wine production. The winery has already launched 3 wines: PDO Santorini, PDO Terrasea, and PDO Nyxteri.

  • In 2018Vivlia Chora Estate acquired Titos Efthymidis Estate in Goumenissa, Kilkis. The local varieties Xinomavro and Negoska play a leading role in producing PDO wines. Alongside the revival of the vineyards, the existing winery was renovated and is now operational, producing the wines Mikro Ktima Titos PDO Goumenissa and Mikro Ktima Titos Negoska Rosé.
