A few kilometers outside Kalamata, in Zevgolatio, Messinia, lies the boutique, visitable winery Ktima Oinotropai, at the heart of privately-owned vineyards covering 65 acres (approx. 0.26 sq km). The family history begins in the late 1980s with the planting of Carignan and Tempranillo and continues with both international and Greek varieties. Since 2011, Vassilis Kapopoulos’s modern winery has been in operation, while in recent years, special emphasis has also been placed on indigenous varieties, such as Mavrotragano.

We had nice time there in November 2021. thanks for the owners of the estate who made a private tour for the spontaneous guests. We felt ourselves welcome there and learned a lot about the wine. We drink the wine now in Germany and enjoy the quality that gets only better with the time.
