The MANOLESAKIS ESTATE, owned by the Manolesakis family, has been active in viticulture and winemaking since 1989—a pivotal period that coincides with the establishment of the vineyard in the Adriani area of Drama, featuring cosmopolitan French grape varieties Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot & Syrah
George Manolesakis was one of the pioneers in reviving viticulture in this historic region. Together with his son, Stavros Manolesakis, they personally oversee all aspects of vineyard cultivation and wine production at the Estate. Their approach combines deep respect for the laws of Nature with a commitment to optimizing viticultural and winemaking processes. Their goal has always been to allow the vines to fully express the distinctive characteristics of the region’s microclimate (terroir), which remains the foundation of their philosophy.
In 2004, their ongoing pursuit of excellence led to the introduction of new vineyards planted with indigenous Greek varieties such as Malagousia, Moschato of Alexandria, Assyrtiko, and Agiorgitiko in 2008, the Greek varieties Moschomavro and Limnio were also added, followed in 2014 by the international variety Pinot Noir.
In 1998, the construction of the MANOLESAKIS ESTATE winery was completed, featuring a state-of-the-art 1,500 sq.m. winemaking facility. It is located in the heart of the privately owned 20-hectare vineyard on the slopes of Adriani, just a few kilometers outside the city of Drama.
The Estate’s mission is to produce high-quality wines exclusively from its privately owned vineyard, in order to showcase the unique characteristics of each grape variety in perfect harmony with the microclimate and soil of the vineyards—the distinctive features of the region’s terroir.
