Recognizing the significance and uniqueness of Xinomavro, one of the most distinguished grape varieties of the Greek vineyard, the “Winemakers of Northern Greece” took a pioneering step in 2019 by establishing and officially designating International Xinomavro Day — an initiative aimed at highlighting and promoting this remarkable native variety.
Since then, each year on this day, themed events are held in Athens and Thessaloniki to celebrate and showcase Xinomavro.
