The Silva Daskalakis Winery is based in the Heraklion region, specifically in the village of Siva. The broader area belongs to one of the Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) zones – PDO Dafnes, which concerns the Liatiko grape variety. The name SILVA derives from the toponym Siva (si-wa), which refers to the god Siva (Dionysus) and is preserved in the oldest “living” religion on the planet, Hinduism. It is a small village, 17 km outside of Heraklion, with significant historical richness, as it was a site of worship in the broader region.

Amazing experience! Mr. Christos was an excellent tour guide with incredible tasting knowledge and full of information about the type of each wine as well as the history of the winery. The wines were a magical journey of taste and I would definitely like to visit them again!
