The Silva Daskalakis Winery is based in the Heraklion region, specifically in the village of Siva. The broader area belongs to one of the Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) zones – PDO Dafnes, which concerns the Liatiko grape variety. The name SILVA derives from the toponym Siva (si-wa), which refers to the god Siva (Dionysus) and is preserved in the oldest “living” religion on the planet, Hinduism. It is a small village, 17 km outside of Heraklion, with significant historical richness, as it was a site of worship in the broader region.

The wine tasting was a complete success. We received a very warm welcome and felt comfortable from the start. Each wine was accompanied by a detailed story and interesting information about its origin, production, and special characteristics. The wines were always served to us in a very friendly and professional manner. This allowed us to taste the different wines at our leisure and learn a great deal about them. Overall, it was a very enjoyable and interesting evening where we learned a lot and had a wonderful time together.
We would love to do it again.
