The Silva Daskalakis Winery is based in the Heraklion region, specifically in the village of Siva. The broader area belongs to one of the Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) zones – PDO Dafnes, which concerns the Liatiko grape variety. The name SILVA derives from the toponym Siva (si-wa), which refers to the god Siva (Dionysus) and is preserved in the oldest “living” religion on the planet, Hinduism. It is a small village, 17 km outside of Heraklion, with significant historical richness, as it was a site of worship in the broader region.

On the occasion of the open wineries, we came into contact with an excellent tasting and service experience! Christos took the time to introduce us to the winery's excellent wines, providing us with information about both the wines themselves and the general history of the winery! A place that shows that they love what they do and it shows! Definitely worth a visit!!
