The Silva Daskalakis Winery is based in the Heraklion region, specifically in the village of Siva. The broader area belongs to one of the Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) zones – PDO Dafnes, which concerns the Liatiko grape variety. The name SILVA derives from the toponym Siva (si-wa), which refers to the god Siva (Dionysus) and is preserved in the oldest “living” religion on the planet, Hinduism. It is a small village, 17 km outside of Heraklion, with significant historical richness, as it was a site of worship in the broader region.

It was our second visit to Silva Winery and it won't be our last. We not only enjoy tasting their excellent wines but we learn so much about each wine they produce. Great experience.
